UNDERSTANDING THE VISION

Daniel 10:1  In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a word was revealed to Daniel, who was named Belteshaz′zar. And the word was true, and it was a great conflict. And he understood the word and had understanding of the vision.

Understanding means = in-depth revelation

Vision means Revelation, Prophecy, Dream

Vision is a mental / spiritual assignment revealed to you as a project for you to accomplish. 

Understanding the vision in a nut shell means receiving an in-depth revelation about a mystery.

Facts about Vision

Ø  An incomplete vision will result to an unsuccessful mission.

Aaron was appointed as priest but because he did not fully understand the revelation he misused it. = Golden Calf (that is why God did not punish him for creating the golden calf)

 

Ø  Any vision that is not understood will remain a mystery.

The son of Nebuchadnezzar being Belshazzar received an open vision but since no understanding, the vision remains a mystery Daniel 5:5-9 NIV

Ø  Visions are pregnancy

Though matter your mental or emotional state, you will do your beset to protect your pregnancy and deliver safely.

Mental: if you don’t understand, go and ask mad ladies how come do they protect their pregnancy and deliver successfully? 

Despite their madness they still nurture the pregnancy.

Emotional: there are people that think that they are dangerous, (they think they can do anything when they are sad).

Investigate most of these people when they are pregnant, then you will know that pregnancy is a vision and the expectation of every pregnancy is safe delivery

Your first step towards any vision is:

1.     Understanding the vision.

When Gideon saw the Angel of the Lord standing at his front, he was afraid and he almost fought with the angel thinking He is his enemy  Josh 5:13

13 Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, "Are you for us or for our enemies?" NIV

There is no vision or ambition without temptation

The Prince of Persia was wresetling against the Understanding that Daniel ….

Dan was fasting for understanding

Dan 10:12 Then he continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding NIV

Solomon failed in his mission

Despite all the understanding that Solomon has, how many of you do sing for Solomon as you do with David’s name 1 Chron 28:6-7 6 He said to me: 'Solomon your son is the one who will build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. 7 I will establish his kingdom forever if he is unswerving in carrying out my commands and laws, as is being done at this time.' NIV

 

According to King James version: Dan 10:1

10 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision. KJV

Understood the thing = What the vision is all about

Understanding of the vision =  What to do (How to fulfil it)

 

Consequences of unfulfilled vision

2 Sam 17:23  When Ahithophel saw that his advice had not been followed, he saddled his donkey and set out for his house in his hometown. He put his house in order and then hanged himself. So he died and was buried in his father's tomb. NIV

Prov 13:19 A desire fulfilled is sweet to the soul;… RSV

An unfulfilled vision destabilized the soul.

How do I run with my vision

1.    Don’t let a day pass without you sowing a seed for your vision

Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) said “Don’t work 8hrs for a company & then go home & not work on your own goals. You are not tired, you are uninspired.”

 

2.    In everything that you do, and in everywhere that you find yourself, set your vision as your priority.

In all the affliction Joseph encountered, he overcome them all because all what he was seeing was “ his Dream= his brothers bowing to him”

If you set your vision as your priority, there are some mistake you can’t afford to make.

 

You won’t tell me that in the case of Joseph and potiphar’s wife, that the urge wasn’t there. You can’t say that.

It is just that His dream/vision was more important – crucial – indispensable that the urge of pothiphar;s wife.
